Rapid learner

It's Tuesday and I am sitting on the floor of the Santaquin house where we are staying, Bentley is in his snugabunny swing cooing and chatting with the bird mobile hanging above him. There is a little mirror in the center of the mobile so he's admiring the person he sees there. It's so cute. I wonder when he will realize that the person in the mirror is him and that it copies what he does. Occasionally he will stare at his reflection and when it doesn't do anything he starts talking; it is almost as if he is beginning the conversation because the other person is ignoring him. Ha ha. My little man is a little person! He is learning so quickly. He is learning to turn over from back to front, he pulls his body into a little ball and TUUURNNNS as far as he can to the side without flipping over. I was impressed. He also loves to kick the blanket off of him and onto the floor. It's a game we play, I put it on, he kicks it off; lather, rinse, repeat.
My little bent loves music, especially church music, he likes to watch Merlin with Mom and Dad and he eats 6 oz every 5 or 6 hours. If I give him a pacifier then he will put himself to sleep; most of the time he will sleep in his swing, but if he is having a hard time sleeping or he is over-tired then all he wants is to lay next to someone (usually me). He smiles when he sees me or Jake and has a little scream/shriek we think is the beginning of a laugh. I love to watch him entertain himself for a long time--then when he finally gets bored he makes very concerned noises that make me laugh. Ha ha. I could talk about his fuzzy blond hair down to his teeny tiny toes all day long.
It's amazing to me that an adult spirit is living inside of that tiny baby body of his. It has vast knowledge and potential and is in a body that is so limited by it's development right now. He relies on me for everything and needs so much attention! He craves love and play time and human interaction, thrives off it even. He is constantly learning, always watching our lips, our body movements, listening to our tones, watching our eyes. Even though he is just a baby I can see the intelligence in his eyes, he is making connections and correlations in his mind that help him understand body language and reflecting emotions and expressions all at two months. I am grateful that God gives us this amazing blessing to be a little like him in the smallest way that we can and yet it is such a large responsibility. Already I am learning so much about the Nature of our Heavenly Father and I have only been a mother for two months!
I have no doubt in my mind that there is a God and that he has a plan for us. Now having one child I understand in a small degree how much our Father in Heaven loves each and every one of us and how he wants us to succeed and grow and learn. He blesses us with challenges and trials so that we can rise above and learn new lessons and skills, just like a small babe. We are Gods in Embryo, we have to learn how to spiritually talk, roll over, coo, crawl, walk...etc. Just like when our children receive shots, pain for no apparent reason,  we too have to have faith that our Heavenly Father is giving us trials for our own good even when they hurt! It's not easy growing up spiritually, just like it isn't easy to grow up physically but the Lord is there for us and he has confidence in us. He has given us a way to return to him through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Don't ever forget that!
I love my little Bentley. I love him more and more every day and He is a constant remind of God's love and plan for me. Well, I have to go kiss my baby. He looks sleepy.

Wednesday

The countdown begins as my little family prepares to move to Cedar Hills, our home's current Tenant is Bud, Jacob's best friend. He says it shouldn't take him long to pack up. I love Conrad and Blythe's home and have enjoyed their hospitality very much but I will be excited when it is just Courtney, Jake, Bent and our lives again. I get to rearrange the furniture and decorate the house any way I want to and settle in for the next...four or five years. It's big enough that I could dedicate one room to a baby room--if I wanted. The possibilites are ENDLESS! I have been addicted to a website called "Pinterest" http://pinterest.com/pin/24277285461459317/ it has all sorts of do it yourself crafts, recipes and more. I guiltily admit that I wasted my entire morning  yesterday discovering new and exciting things that I can make for cheap that will make my home look fantastic. :D Awesome.
Jacob started his job at Wal-mart, I think he deleted the picture I took of him in uniform because I can't find it, but he looks dashing in his Wally-world blue. His first official full shift is on Thursday where he will go in at three, do computer stuff for an hour and then he will work until 1 AM. That's another reason I am excited to move to Cedar Hills. Jacob's commute will change from 45 minutes to 3. Ha ha ha if that's not incentive enough I don't know what is.
Bentley continues to be cuter and cuter every minute. He grins and smiles and coo's. I think he might be learning how to laugh in his sleep, though Dr. Google says he won't laugh until five months. Poo. :(
Bent has a doctor's appointment on Friday, his first official round of shots. Oh it is going to be so sad. It's going to be an action packed day! I'm worried how he will take it. We have Danny walking in the morning, Bent's appointment at 230, Japanese dinner at some point in the evening and Camille wants me to go to a wedding reception in Cedar hills that same evening. Suffice to say: something has got to give. Jake works on Saturday so we are going to try and go to our new ward in Cedar hills on Sunday! *BIG SIGH* Is this what an adult feels like? :/
A big Happy Birthday Shout out to PaPa Williams whose birthday was on the 14th and to Brittney whose was on the 15th. Brittney made a delicious vegan curry with chicken (just don't tell the vegans OR the vegetarians) and cup cakes that were TO DIET from your DIET for. They were SO yummy and I need the recipe. Not that I can use it until I get down to my Target weight, but oh well. There are lots of things I will have to learn to give up. I like my rolls and all, my garlic rolls, my sweet rolls and my cinnamon rolls, I just don't like them on me. They're cute. Let's face it everything about me is cute, but I would rather have my cuteness focused in other areas of my life. bwa ha ha ha. I'm so funny.
Okay, update over. I don't have any pictures today but I did want to post this hilarious video. The other day Jacob woke up to find Bentley and I both snoring (believe it or not, I do snore). If you listen closely you can hear  Bentley snore and then you can hear ME snore. Bentley's is soft, mine is a tiny bit louder. If you can't tell the difference, just know that one is me and one is him. Hahah how can you not be in love with us?

My little Snuggle Bunny...

Grandma Wendie bought baby Bent a snugabunny swing, it swings side to side and front to back. Bentley loves it. He takes naps in it all the time. I love the cute little bunny ears that stick up from the cushion. He looks like such a grumpy rabbit. :D

Bentley is getting so big. Last week we weighed him at approximately 11 pounds. He is wearing his three month clothes and changing so much! His chubby cheeks are absolutely pinch-able and his tiny double chin is getting bigger. Consequently his appetite is dwindling. He eats two ounces or so between his naps rather than the whopping six ounces he was gulping down a few weeks ago. I love him so much and I never get tired of saying it.

Jake has found a job for the summer working at Walmart. :D Bent and I couldn't be more proud of our wonderful bread-winner. It is just down the street from our soon to be home in Cedar Hills, close enough for Jacob to walk should he so choose. The wait for school commences! We are excited to get started on our education and our jobs and the like. We are even more excited to play with our little man and kiss his face and jump jump jump with him. We love our little snugglebunny.

This last week Bentley, Jake and I drove up to Brigham City for our first visit with the Williams' Utah clan. Bentley started in Natalie's arms and found his way into the lap of every adult person attending, minus Aunt Liz. Jessica wasn't there but we saw Anne and her little belly, she only has two months left! Yay Anne! We're having a baby shower on May 19th? It is going to be so much fun! Congratulations Jessica and Anne!! We're so excited to meet these little boys! Bentley will have plenty of little men to play with on the Williams' side. Now let's get some boys on the Edward's side. Bentley can't play baseball with a team of one, now can he? Happy Easter, Bentley!
Afterward we drove down to Payson and ate delicious dinner with Grandpa Ted and Grandma Wendie and all the uncles. Bentley has had SO MANY fun adventures lately that he has gotten his schedule all jumbled up. It's been so fun but we are glad to have a quiet day to rest and let Bentley's body catch up with all of his excitement.
Bentley did not appreciate the camera at bath time.
My baby is getting so big and so CHUNKY!!

Bentley likes to watch me when I walk by, he watches dad too, but I can walk by several times and he will watch me each time. He smiles at mom and dad and coos when he is in a really good mood. He's only awake for about an hour and he's only happy for about thirty minutes of that before he starts to get tired. He can sit up with some support, he doesn't get a whole lot of tummy time but he likes to stand with assistance and he likes to lift up his legs like a frog when you help him jump!
We love our little Bentley and we are so excited for G.G. Bonnie and Great Aunt Melynda to come meet him! (Great Aunt Melynda, that sounds so...prestigious ha ha ha ha) Only 11 days left!

:D My two favorite men in the whole world. <3
