Aaallmooost 11 Months
Bentley is almost 11 months and the growth we have seen is extraordinary!
He practically runs everywhere, he climbs those stairs like they are nothing and now he can get off the couch all by himself! Where did my baby go!!?
Bentley continues to be a happy boy, especially when we give him a bottle before he asks. We discovered that he wants bigger bottles, so now he takes 6-8 oz of formula depending on how long it's been since his last bottle. He has had one 3 hour nap and the other night he slept from 7 to 5 in the morning. I tried to feed him at 10:30 but he wouldn't hear of it. It was a miracle!
The last couple of nights, however he has woken up with a terrifying fit. The first time he had gas, the second time I really think it was a bad dream or...he woke up and it was pitch black. I try to keep a night light in his room, but he has developed a curiosity for unplugging anything in the wall, and a plug-in flashlight is just too much to resist. He is back on schedule after our trip and he sleeps with his dog, Scout and a beautiful blue knit blanket his Aunt Blythe made for him. It has been so nice because he doesn't even scream at me, he just looks at his dog(his dog plays bedtime music) and lays on the blanket. :) we are also down to two naps a day! We get up at either 5 or six, we (Bentley and I) go back to sleep two hours later and sleep for two hours(we take the first nap together in my bed). He takes a nap after lunch and goes to bed at seven. Ah bliss.
We had a visitor this last weekend, Uncle Braun came to stay with us while he was between apartments! Bentley LOVED it! He played with Braun's computer, and a keyboard, he got to play with the computer mouse and Uncle Braun was very sweet with him. :) we will miss him in our home. While he was here he helped me clean out my computer and showed Jacob all the components he will want in a desktop computer. It was a pretty sweet computer that they built online. Two monitors, i5 processing speed, lots of ram...in other words, it made our current computers look ancient. :) Hopefully one day soon we will have a computer like that, but it may not be for awhile. We'll see.
Jake and Bentley are so cute! Bentley sometimes just follows him around, he wants to look at all of Dad's school books and whenever Jake comes home from school Bentley is SO EXCITED. He does this little barbarian yell (that is the only way to describe it. Truly.) This morning Bentley was drinking his bottle and walking around and he followed Dad wherever he went.
Bentley is mouthing more and more words but he doesn't stray from the usual Mama, dada, baba. He can mouth "Hi" and he is trying really hard to figure out how to mouth the word "moo", which is really cute, but he just doesn't get it. I know one of these days he is going to surprise us by saying it loud and clear.
Bentley loves yogurt and Bananas, he tolerates crackers and won't eat mashed potatoes--unless Dad is feeding him, I don't know what is up with that, but to each their own, I suppose.
Baby sister is doing well, as far as I can tell. We have another ultrasound in 3 weeks and then we will be halfway to delivery. It's kind of crazy.
Bentley has a funny prickly rash all over his body. I can't tell if he picked it up in Alabama, or if it is a heat rash or if it's something else entirely but it covers his whole torso and sometimes it's on his shoulders and his legs, it comes and goes, I think it's getting better but he's had it for days, a cough too. Nasty things. We love how beautiful the snow is but I do look forward o the summer when there is less sickness and more time to play outside.
well, that's all for today.
Hasta la vista, baby.
